I was thinking about signing up. Have most people had a good experience and would you recommned it?
This has been discussed here before, you should do a search for it. Basically, it's good, but it's had it's share of growing pains.
i whole heartedly recommend them. i have had an excellent experience dealing with Mark. my only complaint, if any is waiting for the poplar titles to come in/ship out. this is expected as the company is still fairly small, and they don't have a lage supply of doubles. in conclusion yes, i recommend nicheflix.
I recommend nicheflix, too. They are very good however still a small company. Give it time, it will grow
I don't recommend it. I signed up using their free two week trial. I received one disc 2 days before the end of my two week trial and the other discs never came. From the day they said it shipped it took over a week to get to me. I mail out packages via USPS all the time and using first class mail it NEVER takes that long.
While I love the idea of being able to rent other region DVDs, I am not paying that kind of price to maybe get to see 3-4 DVDs a month. If they had the turnaround Netflix has, then that would be a different story.
Nicheflix has good service. The postal service on the other hand may not.
Depending on where you are located and how things are handled by the postal service getting movies out and back can be a bit slow. Living in Utah I generaly get an eight day turn arround - 4 days for a movie to get to me and 4 to send back. Sometime items arrive in less time.
Comparing them with Netflix is a bit unfair since they don't carry the same stock - they have a single distribution point etc...
It's still a small and hopefully growing company...
Considering the wide selection of non-region 1 products they carry and their good customer service I so far have had no reason to complain.
I haven't had them for long, but so far I've been very impressed with the service. I'm not too close to the distribution hub, but my first three got here in 2 days. I'll see how the turnaround is when I send them back.
Also, the discs don't look as if they've been dragged down the driveway like Netflix discs inevitably do. Maybe those who are interested in this kind of rental service are the same ones who are somewhat anal in their disc handling. (Not that I'd know anything about that )
As i said, ive been with them for a few months and my service is usually about 2-3 days from each place... a couple times though ive even had it in about 30 hours. i would give them more credit than is being said on this thread.
Where is their shipping point?
The main thing I don't understand with them is, they don't seem to have any Ruscico titles. Maybe in time.
I'm on their trial right now. Two annoyances I've noticed is it seems to take quite a while for a disc to get checked back in once I return it. The other thing is a title in my queue will show as "Available Now" so naturally I think it's going to ship to me, but five minutes later it'll be checked out again.
Debating whether to continue.
Most of the Ruscico titles are available in R1. Dersu Uzala is available and Sadko should be coming soon.
(unfortunately) our queue messages run in real time. Available Now means there is at least one copy in inventory not checked out. For example, if there are more than one person waiting for a single title it will go to the person that has had it queued the longest.
My problem is that I live in an apartment complex. Most likely they will consider this a "package" and leave it for me at the post office. That means I'd only be able to pick it up on Fridays/saturdays...limiting the amount of times i can get there a month for a disc.
