Really have enjoyed using the new Nexus 7 tablet over the past couple of days.

First impressions. Boy is it fast. And battery life is great. I have only had a couple of app issues so far with the new software. One is MX Player, ther others are the TWC TV and Best Buy. MX Player won't load as it isn't compatible with Android 4.3 yet and TWC TV and Best Buy won't connect.

The rear camera is pretty bad but I wouldn't use it for pictures or video anyway other than with Skype or Google Hangouts.

The majority of the reason I use a tablet is for as a video player. I stream my recorded shows from my HTPC with Remote Media Center and the shows have never looked better. YouTube and Netflix look fantastic. Movies I have uploaded look as good if not better than on my iMac (and that is saying something.)

Some people have had issues with the touch screen sensitivity (which was supposed to be improved with this version over the previous model) especially after downloading the two upgrades to the OS. (The first upgrade pops up when you start the unit. The other you download from software updates). I haven't had this problem. Many people are returning them in exchange for a new one which seems to take care of the touch issues for them.

I have also read that people hate the new thinner side bezel when in portrait mode but since I use it mainly in landscape it is not an issue. I like the wider bezel when in landscape. It allows me to hold it without putting my finger prints on the screen.

Speaking of finger prints the Gorilla Glass screen does a pretty good job keeping away the finger prints. This is the first tablet that I have used that didn't require wiping the screen down after a few minutes of use.

Screen brightness is torched at full brightness and you can comfortably turn it down to about 38% to get plenty of brightness for indoor use. I haven't tried it outdoors yet but I have read that it works well. Off axis viewing is nice too.

I like the feel of the tablet. It is very light and easy to hold on it. It feels well contructed and very sturdy.

Bluetooth, NFC and Wifi all work well. My wifi at home over TWC I am getting a download speed over around 20 M/S.No issues with buffering video streams. I can hardly wait to try this out on Google Fiber later this year.

    I highly recommend this tablet.

Web page scrolling is great in Dolphin, Chrome and UC Browser HD. No issues at all. The TapaTalk for HTF works great too.

Now I just have to get TWC to add Content Connect for HD streaming with Netflix and all will be right with the world. :)
Or better yet Google Fiber shows up soon.

I can't get over how great videos look on this screen. For a $270 tablet it really looks fantastic. You would be hard pressed to find any other tablet that looks this good for this price.

Strangely, there is one going for a scant 99 cents, but I'm not sure if I should trust it.

I ordered that one. Its 99 cents but has a $5 S/H charge. I won't get it until the middle of August but will let you know what is what with it. It looks similar to what is used on the iPad and the reviews have been pretty good.

I liked the Samsung model but the reviews aren't that good and they want $19. Would rather waste $6 over $19.

I would love for someone to come up with something similar to what Amazon has for the Kindle HD.

If you find anything that looks good let me know.

I got the Moko cover today, and it fits and everything. The faux leather is a bit obviously so, but it seems too work well enough. The back could stand to be grippier, but you can't beat the price either.

    I got this one instead.

Its ok. I would really like to have one that Amazon has for its Kindle Fire HD or the one that Apple uses
for it iPad. Too bad the official Asus one for the Nexus it pretty bad especially for what they charge
    for it.

I find it interesting that the prices on these covers have gone up $10 already. Glad I got mine for 0.99 cents.

I am actually enjoying the case I got. I am looking forward to Marware making something for it. I really like
the one they make for the Kindle Fire.

This is really turning out to be one killer of a tablet. Some hiccups from Google with WiFi issues causing
problems with downloading apps from Google Play. They seem to have worked this out lately.

I am also enjoying SwiftKey for Tablet Cloud. Posting text is as fast as typing on my keyboard for my PC.

I don't miss the fact that it is WiFi only. I haven't been anywhere I wanted to use it that didn't have WiFi.

The update got pushed to me this afternoon. I didn't have the touch issues some were having. I think I had the GPS issues, but honestly don't use the feature.

I haven't got the update as of yet. I haven't had the touches issues but I hope this update resolves
some of the program downloads over WiFi.

I have never given much thought to a review done by Consumer Reports. Its like you give the
device to your Grandparents, who have no idea what so ever what this thing is, and they review it
by filling in the box for the multiple choice questions asked about it. Then they go take a nap.
