I have a 12x10 room (Yeah, I know its humble, but at the moment, its what I have to work with) that I want to turn into a HT room. I already have my audio stuff taken care of (Klipsch Ref 3 all the way around). However, I'm going to purchase a new set.

I've got my eye on one of two sets, and maybe a 3rd, if either of these sets is too big. Basically, I'm not sure how big of a TV a room this small can handle, and I need opinions.

I'm a sony diehard with TV's, so its only sony.

Those are the 3 I'm considering, with the 30" only being an option if the general consensus on the forum is that the 34" and the 51" are too large. Personally, I'm leaning towards the 51". However, that 34" CRT looks amazing ( I always love how good a clean sony CRT can look, even if it is old tech )

I'd say I'm a 70% DVD watcher, NO HD at all, and around 30% normal TV. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping that I can haggle a bit and get the 51" down to around $1350 OTD, Maybe $1400 from my local Hifi place, does that sound feasible? Am I dreaming? What about the 34", any ideas on what I should try to negotiate the price down to?

    Thanks a bunch guys!

if you can sit about 8ft. from the screen, i think the 51" is the way to go. i have that set and am very happy with it.

How close are you going be, eyeball to screen? I'd say the 46" inch Sony would be the way go if you're going to have a viewing distance in the 8-10 foot range.

I think you'll find that the 30"-34" models are a little on the small side.

Yeah, I'll be sitting around 8 feet away or so. I think I'm going to go try and snag that 51" today, we'll see what happens [IMG]
