If you just want to add another sub, you don't need pre-outs for every channel.  All you need is one of thesehttp://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=hometheaterforum-20&l=ur2&o=1 , for a buck.
Will that deloute the connection?

A 790 for $90, lucky dog. What is "Deloute"? Don't feel bad, the 890 doesn't have pre-outs either... http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/DENAVR890/DENON-AVR-890-7.1-Channel-105W-A/V-1.3a-Receiver/1.html

I think you meant "dilute"...
Not to a degree that is at all perceptible to anything but high quality laboratory equipment, i.e. no worries using a splitter. Or two. Or three.

The "newer" remote is a whole lot better... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Denon-RC-1156-Amplifier-Remote-AVR-3312CI-2112CI-3311CI-791-1911-DHT-59-/181061391273?pt=US_Remote_Controls&hash=item2a281993a9 I'm willing to bet the set-up works the same way...but you'd need to download the manual for the 791 to get codes for other stuff.

Find out information about what? The 1156 working instead of the 1117? For the AVR it will work. Are "all the buttons" going to be identical? No. Once "set-up" the 1156 remote will do volume/source etc...the set-up menu is what it "might not do". You'd have to find the manual for that Sony to see if it covers "modern" stuff.

That Sony remote needs to go away. It was intended more as a joke. It was cool 10yrs ago, but not now. What about something like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B000FL9E6U/ref=aw_d_cr_electronics?qid=1358533437&sr=8-11

They can say "learning remote will always be current" all they want... I have a Home Theater Master(the B&K remote) that says otherwise...(granted that thing is ancient)
