. hi i need help. i got jbl css11 subwoofer, definitive technology promonitor 800 Satellite Speakers , definitive technology promonitor 1000 center chanel speaker and onkyo tx-sr507 5.1 reciver i need to upgrade the reciver . So ineed help with that , which one harman kardon AVR 1700 , Denon AVR-X1000 , Onkyo TX-NR509 . 60% movies 40% music

I haven't looked, guessing the X1000 is on A4L for $350, cause it isn't new for that price.You do know the 509 is two model years old already(515 and 525 since) and the 1700 had(when it debuted) all sorts of issues, which by now may be corrected(I would hope).

Of the three you listed I'd take te Denon 1000. Too many issues with the 1700 and he 509 is three years old (but it may still work for you anyway).

Unless you really need this years model for some reason, I'd get a factory refurbished model like an Onkyo (525), Denon (1713), or Yamaha (471) from ac4l.com and then either the 3 year extended warranty ($35) or the 5 year ($50).

Newegg.com has last years H/K 1650 for $229. They usually have very good prices on Pioneer receivers as well.

Your choice of AVR comes down to...

1. Does it have the features you want. Which you haven't said any features you want.(front HDMI? front USB? DLNA? Airplay? 2nd zone? apple/android apps? V-tuner?)
2. Ease of use, for you.
3. Your preference.

Does the PS3 handle all your streaming duties? What?

.i don't know nothing special just good sound and a little of power i like watching a movies and music . Of coursee the latest audio decoders like dolby true hd and difrent and lot of sound modes. i like this denon avr1713 . If you get to chose which one would it be denon x1000 or the denon avr1713. ps3? games movies music

If I were to choose a new(er) Denon I'd be looking for a used 3312/3313. But I want pre-outs, V-tuner, 2nd(even 3rd) zone...

Again, we can't recommend an AVR without knowing your needs.

There is the Yamaha 375. It might be the best sounding AVR out there...of the bargain basement.

Why the X1000? Why not the E200? Why did you pick the X1000 to begin with?

It looks like the 1000 and the 1713 have near identicle amp and processing sections and should perform the same.The 1000 should come with someting new that the 1713 doesn't have but I have no idea what that would be and you probably wouldn't need it anyway. If the 1000 is new (from an authorized dealer) then it comes with a 3 year warranty. The refurbished 1713 from ac4l would be about the same price with a 5 year 3rd party warranty.The E200 doesn't include any version of Audyssey so I wouldn't consider it. The E300 comes with MultEQ. The 1000 and 1713 come with MultEQ XT.

I've never owned a Yamaha (still need to correct that - maybe someday) but I rarely hear a bad thing about them. The 375 or 471 from ac4l with the 5 year extended warranty would also be a nice choice.

None of these come with any analog to digital video conversion (I think) but if all your video sources are HDMI then it won't matter.

Go to denons and yamahas websites and wonder around a bit, download a couple of manuals and see if anything jumps out at you. If not then the 1000, 1713, 471 or 375 and even the Onkyo 525 would all probably work fine for you. I'd pass on the 1700.
