I dig the little stands for the ASLs. Did you make those?

I also used to have one of those A/V racks. I outgrew it and found this absolutely huge King Kong rack at Lowe's. The thing actually comes up to my chin! It's affectionately dubbed "The Monolith".

Tim,

Yep I threw those stands together with the scrap oak left
over from my DIY Audio Rack project. I bought 23 1.5" ^3
x 18" long beams and I only needed 12" so those are all the
leftovers (actually I have more left yet...)

I can't wait till the new rack is done.. 4.5' tall and
able to hold 8 components!

Brett,
Do you run two channel through the tubes and the surround through something else? How are main speakers powered?

See, a question about something besides the carpet!!!

Yo Poppa Ar,

Sorry for taking so long to respond, but as you know I've
been busy "breaking in" my center ;). Anyway, one word about your system: "SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET":emoji_thumbsup: I need to borrow a digital cam so I can post some pics of my own lair.

Now about that capeting..........;)

Nice setup!!

How do you like the HALO preamp? I've been thinking about adding a nice preamp with HT passthrough into my setup for awhile now.

I was thinking Classe CP-35, but unfortunately it doesn't offer the HT-bypass option.

Nick,

I love my Halo... But it doesn't have a HT Bypass with a
Unity Gain either (I didn't want it to..) My HT and 2Ch
is completely seperated now, thanks to the Halo.

Ed,

The Surrounds and Center run off of the TX-DS787 the HF
side of my mains run off the Onkyo M-282B 2 Channel Power
of Amp seen sitting below the Reciever. The HF side the
mains on 2Ch also run off the Onk Power Amp and I switch
the tubes into the HF side when I am in the mood for it.

The LF section of the mains (dual 10's) run off a 500 watt
Bob Carver Sunfire amp that sits off to the right of the
right Main.

And hey Tony.... I hear your momma callin! She wants her
Mini System back...!!!!

Brett,

That's really interesting. I would have expected this quote from Parasound's web page "External processor send and receive loop" to mean that it had an ht bypass input.

Thanks for the info, and I guess that rules out the Halo for my system.:frowning:

And BTW, I dig the carpet!! :emoji_thumbsup:

Nick,

It does have a Processor/EQ loop but I don't think it's the
same as a Pre with an HT Bypass with Unity Gain. You might
want to email Parasound and check.

This is a pretty funny thread. Brett, I hope you're not getting too wound up about the carpet.

IMO the problem isn't the carpet, but the choice of program that he chose in his first shot!

Tell me Brett, is the weather report more exciting in DPL II or 5-channel stereo?

:D
