You Can't Take it With You and The Bicycle Thief are more than one day (Total Recall might be too, especially considering that the It's a Wonderful Life/Usual Suspects loophole is in effect). Is Alien just one day?
If Die Hard 2 got a nod, then certainly Die Hard: With a Vengeance should too.
Sherlock, Jr. (a potential casualty of the Usual Suspects loophole, but hardly as blatant)
What about Training Day? Not one of my very favorites, but I can't think of anything else.

This is tough! Maybe we need a separate weekend/2 day tourney.
Continue with the nominations. Nominate however many you want.
Start with the 2nds. Second a film ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE IT'S STRICTLY A 24-HR FILM. Maybe that will get rid of some of these other iffys.
I'm going to be VERY busy tomorrow, so keep track of other people's 2nds until I can update.

I think my post got skipped, as did my three nominations (Die Hard 3, Sherlock, Jr., and Training Day).
I reiterate: The Bicycle Thief and You Can't Take it With You are absolutely not one day films, even within the flashback loophole. Also, I'm not sure that Alien is either.

Ok, The Bicycle Thief and You Can't Take It With You are out. Alien is still iffy.

Even, I'm sorry I missed your 3 noms. They're in now.

These movies need 2nds:

C'mon, there have to be more 24-hr movies than this.

I guess my previous post on the subject was missed, but I'm fairly certain that Glengarry Glen Ross takes place over two days, not one. It begins at night, and moves into a second day (the day they realize that they've been robbed).

Yes, but does Glengarry takes place in one 24-hour period?
Also...
I hate to say so, as it's a real favorite of mine, but Dial M for Murder does not take place in one day.

Now that I think about it, you're right, Dial M for Murder and Bicycle Thief are not 24-hour films, sorry.

However, Glengarry Glen Ross is within a 24-hour period, which I believe was the original intent of the contest.

I also think the original contest said something about excessive flashbacks, which would eliminate It's A Wonderful Life. But it's Vickie's tourney now, so it's up to her.

Second:
Halloween
My Dinner With Andre
Rope

Second:
Arsenic and Old Lace
High Noon
Roman Holiday
Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three
I don't think Dial M for Murder qualifies. Remember the getting in touch with the old college buddy and getting him over the house. Then, the blackmail/plan. Then the actual murder attempt. Then the inspector coming over to do the setup with the key. I love this movie but I don't think it comes close to qualifying.
