I have 2 questions regarding the new (posted 3/18/03) forum guidelines:

1. It's not clear to me what #5(No thread farting. If you see a thread that talks favorably about a particular subject, don't ruin it with negative comments)really means, I am pretty sure this does not mean if everybody rave about, say, a movie on a thread, then one is not supposed to say anything negative about the movie to "ruin" the thread. Please elaborate a little.

2. There used to be a strict ban on posting violation of "street" days, this ban is no longer in the new guideline. Can DVDs that are on sale before official "street" day be mentioned on the forum now???

Thanks.

Hi, Steve!

Thread farting is indeed the act of going into
a highly favorable thread and posting negative
comments. We would prefer if anyone wants to speak
negatively (or positively) against the grain, to
please start a counter-thread.

It is still a violation here to post stores that
break street date. Honestly, it's in YOUR favor
that we ask this. The studios watch this board
VERY closely. Some individuals love the fact that
stores break street dates and if people name such
stores on this forum, it is only going to cause the
studios to take action.

Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks Ron and Mike.

As I frequent the Bargain and Coupon section, I do remind people (very politely) when they post street violations, and I just want to make sure that the policy is still intact, so I can refer people back to the original rules.
