Yeah, the Blackmagic Camera was a big surprise to most and is the NAB announcement that seems to have the most buzz.

The voice of a new generation:
http://nofilmschool.com/2012/11/day-gatekeeper-died-patton-oswalt/
I’m holding in my hand more filmmaking technology than Orson Welles had when he made Citizen Kane. I’m holding almost the same amount of cinematography, post-editing, sound editing, and broadcast capabilities as you have at your TV network or studio. And in a couple of years it’s going to be fucking equal. It’s going to be fucking equal… This isn’t a threat, gatekeepers, this is an offer. We like to create. We’re the ones who love to make shit all the time. You’re the ones who like to discover it and patronize it support it and nurture it and broadcast it. Just, PLEASE, get out of our way while we do it. Because we have THESE now.
And I don’t know if you’ve seen the stuff that’s being uploaded to YouTube. There are sitcoms now on the internet, some of them are brilliant, some of them are “meh,” some of them fuckin suck. At about the same ratio that things are brilliant and “meh” and suck on your network.

I got a Cannon T4i that I'm starting to test the video stuff on and I am about to craft stories for it. I just need to get the flow of the video shooting down like I have with regular picture shooting. I have to find a good freeware video editing program to try out my video editing skills on

Hey our 48 hour film short finally made it to youtube. It's not gonna make it to Cannes but as the effort from a group of nearly 100% new film makers we are proud of what we accomplished and had a ton of fun making it!

Here it is, our 2014 Baltimore 48 hour film project short: I'm Here for the Kid!http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=Bdcyh6M0qPkThis is our team's second year doing this but otherwise nobody in our group has any prior film, acting, script writing or sound experience. Given how noobish we are we're pretty happy with how this year's came out. We'll know on July 16th if we made the cut for 'best of', fingers crossed!Required elements this year for all teams: a hair dresser or barber named Fred or Freida Unger. A lollipop. The line 'Does this look right to you?'
