Need to Replace Denon AVR-391 (1 Viewer)

Here is my current set-up on my Home Theatre:

2 Episode ES-500-Point-6 Ceiling Speakers,

3 Episode ES-700-IWLCR-5 In-Wall Dual woofer Speakers,

Episode ES-Sub-12-300 Subwoofer

Must be 3D Passthrough. Any suggestions?

You are replacing the 391...Because it died?You want an AVR that does ______ that the 391 does not?Every AVR made the last 5 years passes 3D.

Every receiver, even a $99 Sherwood, "pushes the ability of your speakers".You realize the "80 watts"(guessing, haven't looked up the specs of anything) of your 391 needs you to buy an AVR with 160 watts...to notice any appreciable increase in volume.

Just looked at the efficiency of the 700 iwlcr5.87. There is your problem.

Two of the 900 series are 89. The 700 iwlcr6 is 85(that is awful).

Just looked at the 500 p6. Episode "comparo" is the Klipsch CDT 3650. Bad choice on Episode's part. That Klipsch is 93db efficient.That means you need 4 times the power to run your Episode.

Saying they are less efficient than other options. There are SPL calculators out there to figure out how much power you need to attain desired volume.

The 391 was a decent but very entry-level receiver. How much is the budget for the new receiver?
