It has to be the worst piece of crap package ever. The shows are OK but the container is flimsy and cheap. Its made of paper and styrofoam...no joke. Im probably going to buy a multidisc amray and take my "Sledge-O_Matic to it.

Did anyone else pick this set up?

I read a review on DVDTalk in which the reviewer praised the packaging. I had read the review to see if he hated it as much as I did after only seeing it on store shelves. He thought it was so creative. The packaging alone prevented me from buying it, and then I read the review that said the picture ranged from fairly poor to merely average across the 11 specials. I would love to have gotten this set, but there isn't much there to want, I suppose. I definitely agree that the packaging is the cheapest-looking, worst piece of crap ever put out on DVD.

I'll try to take some pictures this week and get them posted here.

I bought it before word of the packaging got it (it looked somewhat neat in the shrink wrap and the 19.99 price at best Buy seams to be a bargain even with the cruddy packaging), but after I unwrapped it it wasn't long before outer paper shell started pulling away from the styrofoam. I'm also concerns that the rubber hubs that hold the discs in place are going to pull awat from the cardboard watermelon slices soon.

It's going into a plastic 3-4 disc case as soon as I can find one.

I'm not interesting in this item, but after reading this, I picked it up to look at in Best Buy. I was amazed at how light and flimsy it was.

And ugly too!;)

Comparing this to the original "babboon's arse" packaging of the Total Recall SE, which is what I consider to be the worst DVD packaging ever...how would it rate?

Normally, this DVD would have gone on my
shelf and sat unopened for a few months. This
is how far behind I get in my viewing habits.

After reading this thread I immediately grabbed
my camera and opened the box....

The packaging is indeed very flimsy. I was most
concerned about removing the shrinkwrap around the
bottom straight legging of the box as I was certain
I would bend it.

The discs are placed on very flimsy cardboard.

While this is absolutely the most cheaply constructed
DVD packaging I have seen to date, nothing compares
to the Munsters Season II packaging when it
comes to removing discs.

I'll be happy to submit both these titles to
the Digital Bits BITSY AWARDS for worst packaging.

P.S.: After I posted the above, I attempted
to put the discs back in the packaging and close it
back up. What a struggle! You need to align the
cardboard DVD housing tabs perfectly to place the
top part of the watermelon. In fact, you really
can't piece this perfectly together once opened.

This packaging certainly is a strong contendor
for the year's worst.

Saw this yesterday at Best Buy, and it looked incredibly fragile. From the photo that Ron posted, it looks like the discs are housed in those cheap-ass plastic CD cases. Hard to believe that people actually designed this case, other people approved it, then it was put into production.
