I just picked it up last Monday. I did a basic calibration last night and replaced all my composites w/ component & toslink cables. So far, very pleased with just the picture on the DTV signal. The pic definitely looks better in 4:3 than when it's streatched in 16:9.

Tonight we will be watching some DVDs, so hopefully that goes well. It took a couple of nights just to get everything run through the receiver correctly but I think I have it down now.

I am picking up an HD DVR (along with a DVD Recorder/VCR unit - 30% off open box coupon is working great! LOL!) this weekend and will try adjusting the attic antenna to pick up some broadcast HD signals.

Pretty sweet!

Changed out some equipment...next purchase is going to be the Samsung DVD-VR325 (upscaling DVD recorder/VCR combo).

We intend on replacing the furniture, carpet and curtains later this year. I may also rip out the oak flooring and put in cherry floors w/ a large area rug instead of the inset carpeting.

I had the B&W SMTs & CNT but the wife didn't like the look of them on the wall...so we now have the AM-10 which pales in comparison to say the least.

do you find the positioning of your speakers makes it sound kinda off? I had my old setup similar to that and now that i have all my speakers about ear level it made a huge difference to me..

I like the design of the room very much, looks pretty sweet and well done.

Oh I'm sure Bose made a patented "technology" to counteract it.

LOL!!! You guys won't offend me, I like the ball busting. :D

I know, I know...Bose. The wife bought them for my 30th Bday mainly because she liked the way they looked.

There is definitely a difference between having them at head level VS in the corners. I have adjusted them a lot! I used a laser pointer taped to the side to get them focused on the seating position(s). Moving the bass module into the corner (out about 1') also made a huge difference.

I am hoping to talk her into in wall speakers. That way she will like the look, I can put them at head level and I can go with a better speaker.

In hind sight, I should have gone with a 50" instead of the 56". I want to lay the room out differently but am having some trouble because of the size of the tv.
