Movie featuring "someone marching toward their fate"? (1 Viewer)

I am sure that I have seen a movie with this theme, but I can't think of what it is. It involves someone who feels very strong convictions to do something, even though it would mean almost certain death. Friends and family try to dissuade them, but because of their convictions, they push on. Have you seen a movie with this type of storyline?

They could face death,have a possibility to die,and some may die,but it may not be forseen.
