Okay, back to the real world, real movies, real memorable deaths:

BambiThe off-camera death of Bambi's mother

The Deer Hunter Walken's character during the Russian Roulette scene

Elephant Man
John Hurt looks at the picture and removed the pillows from his bed and goes to sleep

Oh good, the first one is mentioned already. My faith is restoring.

Hmmmm, no love for Anakin Skywalker's death
in Return of the Jedi? (Seriously, who doesn't know this one? :D )

Oh all right, it wasn't a particularly memorable one. On the other hand, Kirk's death in Generations was memorable, but for the wrong reason. "Oh my..." indeed
(spoiler for ST: Generations)

One that gave me nightmares for months as a kid was Raiders of the Lost Ark

when the Nazis start to melt. Yeech!

But I'm always disappointed in Always that

she DIDN'T die.

This is not in a movie so this is cheating. This is from a TV show but it REALLY got to me. I can't think of any movie deaths that affected me this much.

Brendan Fraser's character of Ben on "Scrubs" death was shocking and so emotional for me. I cried. It was all done so perfectly

Actually, I can kind of think of a movie death that got to me.

Janeane Garofolo

in "Manhood"

but I knew it was coming. The sad part about it was that John Ritter
killed her.

WHAT? No votes for Jesus
in the Passion of the Christ? Hoo boy.

Anyways, I think in a Simple Plan where Jacob asks his brother to kill him
was one that I'll remember for quite some time.

Here's a death that's stayed with me, but it's more of a funny death more than anything else. From Executive Decision, the one and only death of Mr. Steven Seagal.
Any film that has that is worth seeing.

On a more serious note, Big Fish got me when Albert Finney
died. You really kinda warmed to him thoughout the film. It really made me quite upset.

How about Wheezy Joe
in "Intolerable Cruelty"?

But seriously, one of the most affecting deaths in a movie (although made for TV) is Gus McRae (Robert Duvall)
in "Lonesome Dove". I read the book and knew it was coming, but it still got me.

How about Excalibur when Cornwall dies just as Uther and Igrayne create Arthur?

Also T2 when Miles Bennett Dyson has been shot numerous times and uses himself as a human fuse to set off the explosives in the lab.
