I have always bought monster cable for as long as i can remember. The thing is that the speaker cable that i buy has some kind of strange center to it around the copper. When i go to install a speaker i twist the copper cable so that it will go in the back of the speaker nicely but then the clear thing in the middle comes out. I then either cut that off or bend it out of the way. Is this something that i shouldnt do? or what?

I don't really know the best way to decribe what purpose they serve, but the thin outer cover is a dielectric & the inner solid piece is the magnetic flux tube. You do have to cut the thin outer piece off, but the piece in the center dose not matter, You can trim it back, leave it there or whatever.
If you go to Monsters web site it will explain what they are supposed to do.
