De Martino’s films are totally routine products which, more often than not, rip-off Hollywood successes like THE GODFATHER (1972) , THE EXORCIST (1973) or THE OMEN (1976). The latter example, HOLOCAUST 2000 (1977; with Kirk Douglas, no less), is a film which I haven’t managed to watch for myself yet since it’s almost always shown on Italian TV in the dead of night and invariably it starts too early or too late so that the VHS tape runs out on me! Only THE ANTICHRIST has anything substantial to commend it: a good cast and a strong central performance from Carla Gravina.

Believe it or not, there are still a handful of films in his erratic filmography which I wouldn't mind watching...
