Milwaukee and Summerfest (1 Viewer)

What hotels are the closest to the Summerfest in Milwaukee? I've made reservations at the Howard Johnsons at 176 W. Wisconsin and it looks to be about a mile from the festival site; is that about right? Is there anything closer?

You can't get much closer unless you stay at the Astor Hotel or Hotel Knickerbocker.. both are a little pricey. Besides, there's a shuttle bus that runs down Wisconsin Av.
Actually, I wasn't aware there was a Howard Johnsons on Wisconsin av.
I think everyone should come to Summerfest!
PS: If you're coming during the week, buy a pin.. it's worth it.
