Forgive me if anybody's posted this in the month since it was announced but I found it interesting. Unlike the plethora of different versions available for Windows Vista and Windows 7, Windows 8 is going back to a model approximating the Windows XP release. There will be four versions: Windows 8, replacing the Home and Home Premium versions of previous releases, Windows 8 Pro, Windows RT (for ARM-powered devices), and Windows 8 Enterprise. There doesn't appear to be any Ultimate equivalent. I like this strategy a lot better than having different versions coming out the ying yang.
