I bought the Bond 50 Blu-rays disks from Amazon-uk. I notice on my disks, the region codes are printed. For example "Dr No" - ABC ... "Casino Royale" - ABC, the Bonus disk - ABC and the last film "Quantum of Solace " - B. I would be interested what was printed on the Blu-ray disks for people who bought the whole set from Amazon-Com in the US? Not so important, For people who may have bought the German version - what region codes were printed on their disks? Thank you

Finally got to see the documentary Everything or Nothing in HD on Netflix streaming. Very well done! There were things I didn't know and a few things that were left out (like the 1967 Casino Royale), but overall a great overview of the series. It's also a MGM/Columbia produced film, so I must wonder again..WHY wasn't in included on the bonus disc of the Bond 50 box set?
The Bond 50 box set came out before or just after Everything or Nothing was in UK theaters. It is disappointing that a US DVD or blu ray version is not announced yet. I would like to see the documentary, but will wait until I can buy it. I don't subscribe to Netflix.

I recently got the Bond 50 Blu-ray box and starting with the 2nd box Octopussy was the first film. Most of the late Bonds I not have seen but have the DVD. I have looked at the 1st four films (the first 2 I have seen). So far the DVDs that I have (bought circa 10-15 years ago) all the extras on the DVDs are so far on the BR, which have more extras than the DVDs. Later I will try to confirm that for the rest of my Bond DVDs that all the extras are on the BR disks. I have 4 more recent DVDs "Ultimate Edition". If I have the time, I will try to post the extras with their timing for each film - probably for each box (circa 11 films)-

I thank you for the link to DVDCompare but how did you locate James Bond. I would also like to look at the Alfred Hitchcock box issued by Universal. How would I find that? Thanks in advance.

You can input any movie title, director, year, company, or distributor in the box after "Comparison Search" on the main page, or on any comparison page. Regarding James Bond, they have his films listed under both the title and 007, so if you do a search for 007, you'll find a listing of all the DVD and Blu-Ray releases. DVDCompare Main Page For the Hitchcock set, just search for Alfred Hitchcock, and find the Blu-Ray links for the fifteen titles in that set: Saboteur (1942) Shadow of a Doubt (1943) Rope (1948) Rear Window (1954) The Trouble with Harry (1955) The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) Vertigo (1958) North by Northwest (1959) Psycho (1960) The Birds (1963) Marnie (1964) Torn Curtain (1966) Topaz (1969) Frenzy (1972) Family Plot (1976)

Thank you. On the homepage I set "Hitcfhcock" and "Director" and that gives me a list of 52 results but not all titles such as "Topaz" has blue ray. You state "find the Blu-Ray links for the fifteen titles in that set" . There is an "advanced search" where you can give director and company and that gives circa 23 titles but again not all films have "blu-ray". How did you produce your list? In your previous post for the James Bond, you listed all with a link for each. Did you get that with your search or did you do alot of work ior that post? Your Bond links gives all the information that I want and have copied into a text file. I have made the format more readable by adding space lines or tabs- I was thinking that at the end I may post them which might be too long for HTF even when I divide it into 2 posts (Box 1, Box 2 for example) Even that will give a long post. Should I not do that?

Sometimes there isn't an entry for the Blu-Ray because nobody's submitted it to the DVDCompare team to be included. It looks like Topaz never got a Blu-Ray submission. I should have probably just directed you to Kevin EK's HTF review of the Hitchcock set. It has all the specifications one would expect from DVDCompare, but with the usual HTF flair and quality. Plus, you won't have to scan each individual page, the review covers all fifteen discs. Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray Review - Recommended

I searched "007," then opened each Blu-Ray link individually, copied it into HTF, and made them hyperlinks. I'm used to copy-pasting things quickly, so it didn't take me long.

I'm sure people would appreciate reading it in a more readable format. But I'm not an HTF mod, so I'm the wrong person to ask for that. :)

People have posted about Bond books. What do you recommend for a (not very expensive) book and if possible with the author's name or an Amazon link. Thank you-

There's a ton of good ones. 2 that I found very well done are The Making of The Living Daylights, The making of On Her Majesty's Secret Service and James Bond Archives. Roger Moore's Bond on Bond book was decent. The Bond posters 50th is a nice book too. I was expecting much more out of the Making of Skyfall book. It contains behind the scenes photos and very little information about the making of the film. http://www.amazon.com/James-Bond-Archives-Paul-Duncan/dp/3836521059/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362848586&sr=8-1&keywords=james+bond+archives http://www.amazon.com/Making-Living-Daylights-Charles-Helfenstein/dp/098441262X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848609&sr=1-1&keywords=making+of+the+living+daylights http://www.amazon.com/Making-Her-Majestys-Secret-Service/dp/0984412603/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848609&sr=1-2&keywords=making+of+the+living+daylights http://www.amazon.com/Bond-Reflections-years-James-Movies/dp/0762782811/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848657&sr=1-1&keywords=bond+on+bond http://www.amazon.com/Bond-Set-Filming-Greg-Williams/dp/0756698405/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848672&sr=1-1&keywords=making+of+skyfall http://www.amazon.com/James-Bond-Years-Movie-Posters/dp/0756698375/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848691&sr=1-1&keywords=bond+posters Here's 2 older books that are very well done by John Cork too. http://www.amazon.com/James-Bond-Legacy-John-Cork/dp/0810932962/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848730&sr=1-2&keywords=john+cork+bond http://www.amazon.com/Bond-Girls-are-Forever-Women/dp/0810943026/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362848730&sr=1-1&keywords=john+cork+bond

Any word on another release of Never Say Never Again. Certainly not a very good Bond film (or even an official one) but it deserves to be made available. The OOP MGM BD release is not in my price range at this time.

The UK is getting a region-free NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN in April, but it will be missing the horse fall scene, which was cut for that country. France and Germany are getting it, too, perhaps uncut, but perhaps RB, too. Given its 30th anniversary it may be reissued here.

*sigh* Animal rights activists win again. Is the censorship original or new?

Never Say Never Again is currently listed for $28.99 on YesAsia.com. I purchased it a couple of months ago (it was $25.99 at the time). It is the Hong Kong version, but is not region locked. I've watched it, and it played fine, and looked good. It does have the horse fall scene. David

I might have been wrong about that. I live in the US, and it played. I apologize for my confusion.

I am in the process of looking at the Bond films and extras and after the HTF move will list the films and extras. (I must say that for the last film in the box "Quantum of Solace", the extras are not as good as with the other films. I am virtually finished with "book 2" ("Octopussy" thru "Quantum of Solace") I suspect that some of the extras on the DVD of "Casino Royale" are NOT on the Bond 50 Box- I suspect for the other films all of the extras are on the Bond 50 box.

It's very strange that a CE of Quantum Of Solace has not been released. Work was done for one and an audio commentary was recorded by Marc Forster. Very strange.

I can't wait to watch Octopussy. I love that theme song for nostalgic reasons. I'm going through my set in order as well. Watched Thunderball over the weekend and it was fantastic. 90 mins had gone by before I even realized it. Hard to stop watching. Shark pools are just that awesome, really. I wish I'd seen this one when I was much younger. I think I missed it.
