Happy birthday to Jack Warner. More than any other studio during the Golden Age of 3-D, Warner Bros. believed in the visual power of stereoscopic motion pictures.

That is a good review of Devil Bat and we owe many thanks to you for making a quality blu-ray of this title possible.

I want to know more about the Blu-ray 3D release of "The Bubble." I saw it theatrically during the 1970s or 80s under the Fantastic Invasion title. I do remember the ladder poking into the audience.

I really hope The Bubble is received well, as it may bode for how soon we may see other single-strip titles on BD 3D.

I think I'm going to be spending a few months "on the bubble" waiting for this release. :3dglasses:

I like the poster but I'm not familiar with the movie. Is it any good? How's the 3D?

The Bubble has some excellent 3D gimmick shots. The floating tray of beer is worth the price of admission alone as they say.

We will have complete details on the original Warnerphonic audio for HOUSE OF WAX and will tell exactly what was done for the 3-D Blu-ray.

We played a part in restoring the original 1953 Intermission card, unseen in sixty years!

The new 3-D restoration on this landmark production is outstanding.

Watch the 3-D Film Archive site for our upcoming article and review.

    It's coming soon...

My 3-D Film Archive colleagues Greg Kintz, Jack Theakston and I recently had the pleasure of visiting with Ned Price and were given a tour of the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging facility. We were shown a few scenes from both the HOUSE OF WAX restoration and THE WIZARD OF OZ conversion.

    We were VERY impressed!

I've seen HOUSE OF WAX in various formats (including dual-strip polarized 35mm) over the past 33 years and have never seen it look as good as the new 4K restoration from the original left/right YCM masters.

THE WIZARD OF OZ conversion knocked us out. It felt as if we were viewing stereo slides taken on the set. Do not miss the opportunity to see it on the big screen when it opens September 20.

    You will not be disappointed!

If tomorrow's the only night, then I'm sorry I have to miss it.

Are they going to also play House of Wax in theaters nationwide?

If not, it would seem a huge missed opportunity to throw a double whammy at the public and get more people more excited about the vintage stuff to be enjoyed both on the big screen AND at home.

There is a review of the new "HOUSE OF WAX" Blu-ray with screen grabs over at the Beaver site.
Unfortunately they're only able to view the 2D version.

It looks a bit soft but the color looks OK.

The OCN was destroyed many years ago by a lab that didn't know what they were doing.

This restoration is a painstaking recombine from the left/right yellow, cyan and magenta protection masters. That's six rolls of film for each stereoscopic image!
