Somebody tell me about Doctor Strange. Is he a good guy? Who does he partnered up with? What are his powers or abilities? Is this film really necessary?

Marvel altered their orignial release schedule a little while back, and Doctor Strange will hit theaters next November (November 4th) and not this July.

I liked this quote from the article:

Kind of a Batman Begins + Inception + Matrix vibe to it.

Scott Derrickson used the same cinematographer that Gunn used for Guardians of the Galaxy. It's got a great look to it.

Looks great! My one hope for this film is that Cumberbatch loses the over-enunciation in his voice that IMO went too far in Star Trek Into Darkness and The Hobbit.

He's using an American accent in this, but we didn't hear too much of it in the trailer.

The character is a highly educated individual, so a certain clarity of speech would be appropriate I think.
