I remember hearing Stan Lee at a comic con talking about dealing with the "Trial of the Incredible Hulk" producers trying to spin off Rex Smith as a TV Daredevil (with John Rhys-Davies channeling Leo McKern from The Prisoner as The Kingpin)--

The producers said they had to change the red "devil" costume to black because red was too harsh on TV signals, and in making it more of a "ninja" costume, gave DD more of a blindfold across his eyes, rather than the disguised "eyes" in the red-costume hood.

"But he doesn't want criminals to know he's blind!" Stan reportedly protested...."Just tell me, he is still blind, isn't he?" ;)

Here, like the F4 reboot, heard they might be using some new print-comic retcon to give DD a more TV-safe black costume again, but it's too dark to tell from the trailer. At least we have two possible reasons to theorize.

The costume is based on Frank Miller's "Man Without Fear" (from 20 years ago, so not exactly "new") and will evolve.

Really, the reason we start with this version -- which is hugely influenced by Man Without Fear -- is for two reasons. One, this really is the beginning, the formation of Matt Murdock a Daredevil. On the flip side, it’s the formation of Wilson Fisk becoming Kingpin. It’s very much a parallel arc. We didn’t want to start him in the [red] suit. We wanted the early days of him figuring out what he was doing and making mistakes and getting the crap beat out of him on a regular basis. His suit, which we call his vigilante outfit, in the beginning - we tried practically everything, design-wise. We experimented with a lot of different head pieces. One version was a ski mask with the eyes sewn shut. We tried everything until we found something that just felt right. And also, really going back to that Man Without Fear, I can’t say where his costume ends up, where it goes, but there is definitely an evolution.

Three more just joined the cast of "A.K.A. Jessica Jones":
Eka Darville, who was one of Marcel's vampire henchmen on "The Originals", will play Malcolm, a neighbor of Jessica’s whose own journey will intertwine with her quest in a surprising way.

Erin Moriarty played Radha Mitchell's daughter on showrunner Melissa Rosenberg's ill-fated series "Red Widow" before going on to play Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan's daughter on "True Detective". She will taken on the role of Hope, a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations.

Australian actor Wil Traval played Radha Mitchell's brother (and Erin Moriarty's uncle) on showrunner Melissa Rosenberg's ill-fated series "Red Widow". His role here is as an NYPD cop who takes “protect and serve” very seriously.

Love the knuckles!

Problem is, I think this is what we're in for when Marvel wanders out of the big screen to try to tackle the sad devolved state of television:
SHIELD and Agent Carter took on free-network broadcast television, where Only Females Watch, and demonstrated why females don't read Marvel--

But Netflix OP thinks that it's competing with AMC and Showtime, and has to sell the series as "Breaking Knuckles", a Fight-Club like story where a respected lawyer grows discontented with the system, and breaks from the establishment to become a gritty vigilante of the dirty night streets.

(Oh, and he also has radioactive senses, but shh, you had to have seen the Ben Affleck movie to know that.)

It ain't Phase 2.5, people, let's get used to that quickly.

It's bad enough what CW had to do to Green Arrow and the Flash.

But, the Kingpin didn't get his name from a card--He got it from his bowling-pin shape!

(And hopefully they're not going to go the full Frank Miller, and say that Daredevil was just well-trained by the older guy and didn't have radioactive senses, just because, like CW, they're embarrassed by anything too comic-bookish.)

What are you talking about? Of course he has the hypersenses.

“Marvel’s Daredevil” is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.
The trailers have also both indicated he has the senses. Why would you even doubt that, unless you get the shakes if you don't have something to whine about?

New "motion poster"

You can see Avengers Tower in the background, and take a close look at Murdock's reflection
