Here are some of my fave television films from when I was a kid (as well as one I didn't manage to catch), that I'd love to see on DVD: DEATH RACE (1973) Allied soldiers Doug McClure and Roy Thinnes vs. Nazi soldiers Lloyd Bridges and Eric Braeden in a nifty little chase thriller...Doug & Roy are in a crippled plane, skimming across the ground, and are being chased by Lloyd and crew in a tank. Got an excellent copy from the Encore Action Channel a few years ago. KILLDOZER (1974) Clint Walker stars in this thriller about a group of construction workers hired to build an airstrip on a Pacific island during WWII. Their bulldozer inadvertently hits a meteorite, which causes a strange blue light to emanate and it possesses the bulldozer, causing it to run by itself and start killing people... THE MORNING AFTER (1974) Dick Van Dyke's Emmy-winning performance as Charlie Lester, a tragic alcoholic public-relations man. Teleplay by Richard Matheson. I'm chomping at the bit to see this, as I'm a rabid Van Dyke fan. THE SAVAGE BEES (1976) The best of the "African killer bees" films; puts THE SWARM to absolute shame, not that that's all that much of a feat. MYSTERIOUS TWO (Made in 1979, not broadcast until 1982) John Forsythe and Priscilla Pointer as "He and She", based on the two nutzoids known as "The Two", who first became known in the '70s and later reappeared in the '90s as the leaders of the Hale-Bopp-obsessed Heaven's Gate cult. Wacked-out stuff that I haven't seen since it originally aired. THE GUYANA TRAGEDY: The Story Of Jim Jones (1980) Powers Boothe is a powerhouse in this television classic. I believe this came out on DVD in Australia, but it could really use a nice R1 special edition. Anyone else want to chime in with their fave television films?
