It is but you can add a PSPD or what ever they call it to add dd and dts... I agree with Jim It is a quality piece of equipment...

That is a great sounding preamp for both 2ch stereo and home theater.

It is a great piece but it can only be updgraded to a point since I believe Madrigal has abandoned it at this point so no DPLII or EX. If someone does not need those features it is not a bad deal.
