WHAT:
Dolby is hosting a panel discussion about the impact of 7.1 surround sound on 2D and 3D movies. The session will be streamed live on Dolby’s Facebook fan page (http://on.fb.me/dolby-surrounded-webcast) and viewers from around the world can submit questions for speakers to address via Facebook and Twitter (twitter.com/#!/dolby). Just leave a comment on our Facebook wall or Tweet us a question using the #surrounded hashtag.

Since the launch of Dolby® Surround 7.1 one year ago 25 feature films have been mixed in 7.1, making it one of the most quickly adopted Dolby cinema audio formats ever. Filmmakers, sound mixers, directors, and other postproduction professionals have embraced 7.1 because it brings a more exciting experience to 2D movies, and gives content creators even more control over audio placement for 3D movies. In the session, industry leaders and innovators will discuss how 7.1 audio impacts entertainment and what is in store for the future of surround sound.
