I also recently bought the set from best buy. But at only 30 bucks, I won't cry too much double dippin for some upgraged sets. Especially to hear the soundtrack in much better sound
Here's hoping that MGM will treat this restored version with the same loving care Paramount lavished on OUATITW, one of my favourite discs of last year.
Does anyone know if this will be a 2-disc set or if the rest of the trilogy will recieve the same Special Edition treatment?
If this is the only film that is being re-done, than I'd hope it comes out as a single-disc so that I can fit it into my current box-set and just replace the old disc.
www.dvdtimes.co.uk has an announcement on the R1 release 2 disc CE on May 18 here, including a shot of the rather nice packaging.
Features will include:

I think the box art is boring. Why didn't they use the image that is on the top postcard shown in photo 2. It is one case where the "floating head" approach works and it was a piece of original poster art to boot. It sure looks a lot better than what they are going to use. After all, there were three main characters in this film, and I'm only seeing one of them depicted.
Added:
I notice that the postcard image has the original Italian Title. It would have been a neat extra if they had put this art on the disc case as a reversible cover. The original Italian on one side and English on the other.
