Lake Placid is a really funny, cool movie - they just needed to double the run time!

I just finished watching 'Lake Placid' and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. There were loads of laugh-out load moments! What amazed me even more however, was how short it was. I know it was meant to be a B-movie horror thriller homage, but damn! it was over so quickly. Why does Steve Miner make such short movies (see also Halloween:H20 - also barely feature length!)
Talk about short and sharp! [IMG]

Double the run time? Maybe 10 or 15 minutes...maybe, but another hour or so? The film was fun because of its brevity. There wasn't enough material to work with to make it last longer. They used it all up, stuck some credits on there and pushed it out the door. The only way to get more film out of it was to repeat scenes and that would've pushed an already light film into total stupidity.
