L54 NAD compatible with BD? (1 Viewer)

i have a NAD L54 AV receiver/DVD player. I am trying to run the audio from a Sony BDP-BX10 player thru it. i connected the BD player digital out to the L54 digital in. i set the L54 to audio input to VCR/OPTI and no sound. i also tried connecting the audio out from HDTV to VCR in on L54 and still no sound. i dont see any other options. is the BD audio not compatible with this older L54 player?
