I was wandering if there is any tweaks or calibration i can do myself to this set i got got it 2weeks this saturday.

I have the avia dvd on order.

It depends on how down and dirty you are willing to get. You can do service convergence.

Mechanical focus
Electronic focus
Lens STriping
Colour decoder fix

All yourself if you are willing to invest the time to research it and learn how to do it.
