Putting together my first home theater system and looking for used bookshelf speakers 36" or less . Saw the Klipsch SB-1 and -3 pairs for $150 - fair price? Cal

Must have been a good price, they didn't last long.

I would say so, 150 a pair. That seems too good.

By the way, learn how to use "Ebay Completed Listings"... http://www.ebay.com/ctg/?_pid=72108903&_trksid=p2045573.m1687.l1428#alurl-/ccg/72108903?rt=nc&LH_Complete=1&LH_PrefLoc=1&_clu=2&_dmpt=Speakers_Subwoofers&_fln=1&_pcategid=14990&_pcatid=390&_pdpal=1&_sgz=1&_trksid=p5877.c0.m283-state-15_all_qqq_46341

Polk says those LS 70s are 37" tall. I keep remeasuring my bookcase and the end sections are 36.5" wide. Polk's picture doesn't show any feet so I don't know how to shorten to fit. The top of the bookcase has been voted down. They are still on CL, I will call and ask the seller to double check the height. Maybe the LS 70s aren't as popular as the Klipsch or priced as low. Thanks for the reminder. Cal

LS 70s measure out to 37.5" and are too big for me. Another pair became available for $225. A CL ad got me interested with an unknown Klipsch system for $250. Turned out to be a pair of KG 5.5s, SWV powered sub, unknown center, and unknown Boston rear speakers. Too bad those KGs are the same height as the LS 70s and 17" deep, never work in a bookcase. I did get a pair of free small infinity speakers that sound nice on my old stereo system. I think I will just get an entry level AVR, something I won't mind replacing in a year, and upgrade as I learn more.

"Upgrade as you learn more"... That is a scary slope. I've had upgrade-itis for 30+ years...

Going through that right now with other toys, helps me from getting too crazy with home theater.
