Don't know how long this show will last, but here's a reminder that it premieres tonight after Prison Break at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.

Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser star in this cop drama located in present-day New Orleans after Katrina left her mark on the city and area in 2005.

Yeah, I don't think this shows is going to last long.
It doesn't look like they can do much with it.
I'm giving it a chance though since I do like Anthony Anderson and think the TV show will have a nice look to it.

I say the show last 6 episodes.

I'll give it a try. At least until the other network's new shows start.

It does seem like they are trying to cash in on the Katrina craze. I hope they can come up with some good story lines.

Given the track record of the Networks lately, the show better hold on to the Prison Break audience if it hopes to last.

I thought it was okay, but definitely down in the viewing priority list for the Monday 9 p.m. EDT timeslot for me (behind Heroes and CBS Monday comedy block).

Well, just for the record:
we don't all run out for gumbo every day likes its a ritual....
we don't hang out in the French quarter (tourist trap!)
AND unless it is the two weeks of winter, we NEVER wear jackets or long sleeves outside, ever...

But..

The scenes of the devastated areas are very real and some of what is portrayed in the show is still ongoing to this day....

But the biggest thing in the show that caught my attention was the mention of the security firm "black rain" I think they called them in the show? The people that ran the casino in the show...in the real world after Katrina, "Black Water" the real security firm, was in fact doing security in our city after it "all went bad" after the hurricane, this is the same company, who by the way, just had that "incident" in Iraq...that was an odd coincidence for sure, to me anyway.

FWIW: some of the lingo and eye appeal of the show is overplayed and I am not sure I can watch a show about the surroundings where I live but I rate this show about a 6.5 out of 10, not sure if it will last the entire season or not, time will tell. :emoji_thumbsup: /:thumbsdown:

PSS-I have lived here my entire 46 years and I have never used vodoo....(hollywood/tourists)

Thought it was potentially interesting.. until the crazed Starsky and Hutch car chase with guns-a-blazin in the first ten minutes.

No police officers jump out of a bulding into a street and empty a clip in a hurry, or start chasing people around and shooting across busy traffic.

For all the setup of showing how things are, it went humorously surreal right off the bat.

I'll give it another try, but the inaugural case was pretty contrived. The action was over-the-top for what I thought was going to be a more realistic show.

I guess flooding out a house would be a good intimidation tactic in New Orleans, but it seemed too much of a coincidence after we heard that the little girl was terrified of wind and rain. I thought it was some weird dream sequence at first.

Hated the editing. They run out of a building, a car races off, and then the next shot our heroes are already in their car and closing in, firing at the bad guys! Think that happened more than once last night.

I thought it was okay, but I don't think it will last longer than 13 episodes.

It sounded weird hearing John Carroll Lynch speaking with a different accent.

Okay,

I just watched.
I'm in the, "not too impressed" catagory.

I also thought the flooding the daughters bedroom was a little coincidental, and actually kind of hated it.

It was funny to see Lost's Ethan in another bad guy role.

I'm giving this probally another 2-3 episodes

So far this and Cavemen are on my list of "I'm giving a few more episodes"

Jordan, noticed the editing you're talking about, and it was twice. The bad guys have a head start both times, but it's magically erased through editing.

Cavemen started? Probably little chance I'd like it, since I hate modern sitcoms, but I was hoping to try it.

There are a handful of pilots out now

This show is outrageous. I thought it was going to be a realistic look at cops cleaning up the city, not this cockamamie conspiracy noise.

It's on Fox Monday night. The night of 24, Prison Break, and Drive. Realism is kind of out of the question. Besides, you saw all the ads with cars flipping and shootouts in the middle of the street, right? This is basically an action series with an interesting background.

Not a great one, yet, though. I liked this episode well enough, but it's certainly not going to get the HD priority over Heroes, despite looking pretty and having nice sound.

I liked this episode better than the 1st one, but it still has that feel of a cheesy 80's show.

No, I only saw the initial trailer, and thought it would be an attempt to show a cop cleaning up the city. You'd think some of that would involve the real problems NOLA cops are facing. This kind of "oil companies controlling the prison warden" thing should have shown up in season 5, right before season 6 when the robots and aliens arrive. Expecting seasons to be structured thus may be influenced by too much Dukes of Hazzard, I'll admit.

I just watched the second episode, Cobb's Web, while I like this one better than the first(Pilot) I'm still not warming up to the show.

I also thought that K-Ville was suppose to be more realism of post Katrina and NOT (in Greg's words) Dukes of New Orleans.

Not quitting this show yet, but darn close.

NEXT WEEKS EPISODE

Bedfellows

Boulet and Cobb are on the hunt for the killer of the former New Orleans District Attorney. Clues lead them to an upscale brothel and to a suspect that Captain James Embry knows all too well.
