    I'll start off with a few...
    Using the cord from a broken iron as the center speaker wire in a home theater. Did the same thing with the cord from a toaster.
    Re-hashed a dead JBL DPS 12 by bypassing (and later removing) the plate amp and running it from a Sony TA-N110.
    Using an old Mitsubishi VCR as a pre-amp for a Technics SU-G90. Discovered, by accident, that the level meters on the VCR actually had influence on the output. Since it also had front and rear AV inputs...hooked up a CD-R and a Tuner...it is my "garage stereo". Since the CD-R also has an input(actually two, digital and analog) it allows me to hook up my phone for Pandora/Slacker/Spotify.
