Jonatha Brooke's long awaited New York concert DVD is available for pre-order on her site, www.jonathabrooke.com. Brooke was one of the few (maybe the only) independent artists to release a DVD-Audio/DVD-Video flipper back in 2001 and was certainly ahead of many of her major label peers in releasing DVD product of any kind. Pre-orders will ship next month; the DVD will be in stores in the fall.
The previous DVD, "Steady Pull," was incredibly ambitious but a low budget affair on the video production side. However any lack of polish in that area was forgiveable given its independent origins and was more than made up for by the presence of DTS 5.1, DD5.1 (on the DVD-Video side) and 88.2kHz/24-bit surround and 176.4kHz/24-bit stereo (on the DVD-Audio side).
Though full production details of the "Live in New York" DVD are not available, I expect an improvement in film/video production with the involvement of Emily Branham, who directed Brooke's "Better After All" music video (available for viewing on the website).
