true Cees. my short sentence certainly leaves out and simplifies it alot.

he is pendleton, to us because thats how we see him but his body is farnsworth and everyone in the movie sees farnsworth's body. thats why no one believed he was joe.
and now as joe's memory of HIMSELF fades it is a devastating scene as seen through the brillaint acting of warden as we and corkle now realize he is gone for good.
it is , redeemed(?) at the end when you see that his essence/soul still probably exists even though his memory of himself is gone.
