Hehheh... If only it were more simple to seriously compare the new lossless formats to the preexisting ones. 
As pointed out, for all we know, they could actually provide a different, better mix/master for the new format soundtracks just so they do sound better even if the old full bitrate DTS should've been transparent enough. But if that's the case, then you're kinda forced to upgrade anyway, if you want that extra bit of improvement.
