Only if youd like a home theater experience that will rip your speakers a new ass!

I don't think this comes out for another few months, but you can probably pre-order it now though.
I doubt most people are getting this one, it's the weakest in the Star Trek series after Final Frontier..

The Phantom Menace comes out today! And it's a Star Wars film, not Star Trek.

Great overall DVD package(of course, it helps if you liked the movie). May the force be with you on your decision. Cheers.

Let's put it this way. Regardless of whether you really like the movie or not (I don't), it's a difficult DVD to simply pass up. I mean, Target and Best Buy are charging less than $18.00 for this two-disc set, and the pod race alone is worth that kind of money!

The DVD actually made me like the movie even better than the first time I saw it theatrically. By all means buy it. The disk itself is great and it is my new favourite.

Personally the supplementary materials alone are worth the purchase!
Also some of the best animated menus I have seen. Well worth the money!

Don You can always wait for the next Super Special Edition ,or the Box Set, or the next less compressed version of the DVD, or the reprint with the proper bass restored so that it sounds as good as the laserdisk, ect, ect, ect.
IMHO if you liked the movie this is a worthy purchase, and if you felt this was a kiddy version of what the original Star Wars was, then buy it for the extras.

I'm in the latter camp...buying it for the extras, plus my friends who come to enjoy my home theater will expect me to have it!

I got crap for months about not having Dungeons and Dragons for them! I finally had to break down when I found it for $12.99.

For everyone's complaints, I think it is a very worthy disc on many fronts. It's only $18 at Best Buy (that's $9 a disc). I have not watched it (I have to work) on DVD, but it's set-up is nice. There's tons on this very forum to persuade you, so I won't repeat. I have bought much worse discs for more money.
Take care,
Chuck
