iPod/iPhone connection to Onkyo NR708 (1 Viewer)

I want to use the headphone jack on my 5th gen iPod and my iPhone to connect to the receiver through a headphone to RCA cable (from Blue Jeans). What should I plug it into? My options are phono, TV/CD, PC, Cable/Sat, VCR/DVR, BD available. I think phono has no preamp, but the rest do or are they all essentially the same for this purpose? Thanks

Any red-white works...except for phono.

I did the same thing, but I had to turn the volume on my iPhone all the way up and it doesn't sound all that great. Any ideas?

Unless you are listening to FLAC, streamed music sucks. Especially when you attempt to listen to it on anything better than earbuds or a factory car stereo. The cure? Start listening to CDs again.
