Anyone else a fan of Yakov Smirnoff? I'd like to see him in person but for some reason he only does stand up at his comedy club in Missouri?? www.yakov.com

Anyone remember this epsiode from Family Guy?

Car Navigation with several languages available
English: "Take a right at the fork in the road."
Spanish: "...."
German: "...."
Yakov Translation: "In Soviet Russia, road forks YOU!"

"What a country.."

It gets old faster than you would think. And I would think that you would think that it would get old pretty fast.

I saw his name on a marquee in Alexandria, Virginia earlier this year. Bold move, stepping outside Branson.

hah guess people would get tired of it after a while. I just learned of him from family guy, and all my friends were telling me about him. But then again we're all in our early 20's. :b

Me too, but a brief resurgence in that drek hit some hipper parts of the internet a while back. I was passingly familiar with him before that, but when every third thread is "In Soviet Russia, blank blanks you!" you get sick of it pretty fast.

In fact, just think on that template for a while.

He was novelty for 15 mintues when he started 30+ years ago. Dan Akroyd and Steve Martin did his sthick much better as the Czechoslovakian playboys on SNL.
