Imax and ROTK...horrible (1 Viewer)

The sound system at a good IMAX auditorium will blow away a "regular" theater any day of the week. It's 12,000 watts of fun, baby!

The image is also a LOT larger, even for films that are 2.35:1, on a full size flat IMAX screen. The problem is that image appears a lot darker because it is being blown up well beyond a typical 35mm projectors screen size sweet spot.

If you're in a Chicago suburb, the Seven Bridges IMAX also has nasty sound. There was nasty static coming out of the right rear speaker and every once in a while the sound level changed for no apparent reason.

Interestingly, I heard the same static before the movie when they were just playing light music, so the problem may not be with how RotK is encoded (unless its audio track is blowing speakers).
