For some reason I was thinking about this today. Which 5 DVDs would you keep if you had to pick only 5? This is harder than you might think! Here are mine:
1. Gladiator
2. The Matrix
3. Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box (might be considered 2 or 3 DVDs but what the heck - it's a hypothetical question anyway)
4. Notting Hill
5. The Rock - Criterion Collection
3 of my 5 were easy for me, the last two spots could have gone to about 30 movies!

* North By Northwest
* The Toy Story box.
* Mousehunt (go ahead, laugh - it's one of the most rewatchable comedies I have)
* The Phantom Menace
* Breakfast At Tiffany's
What's surprising isn't really how hard the last one was, but how easy the previous four were.

Very tough to pick just 5, and just to make this clear, the "Back to the Future" trilogy and "Real Genius" would TOP my list if they were out on DVD, but their not out yet so:
Toy Story 1/2
Heathers
Oh Brother where art thou?
Fletch
Happy Gilmore( I had to choose between Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and Christine, and chose Happy even though it's 1.33 open-matte, Hey the *&%$#@s didn't give me a choice, and it's a must!!! )

Yes, I believe that you can count a box set as one DVD (heck, I did!). Why not - it gets you a lot more DVDs!
I'm anxious to hear from some of the HTF'ers who have thousands of DVDs, as their choices must be really tough(RAF, are you listening?)

I wish there was room for Memento, but it just barely missed displacing any of the above!
