Not sure if anyone is aware if any receivers out there nowadays enable using HDMI cable for Zone 2 output. My Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver has 2 hdmi outputs but for some reason it doesn't allow hdmi connection for ZAone 2 which is very annoying to say the least. ALso switching to Zone 2 using the Onkyo remote often simply does not work.
Any suggestions?
Are these newer models out there now that overcome this?
Thanks

The denons have the same limitation, it is a byproduct of the multichannel demuxing plus DRM.
The 9000 series does it. But that is serious $$$
It sucks, I have a whole house stereo and can't output hdmi to both my 5.1 and the simple ass stereo outs to get to the WHA. On Denon you can simply run a second input per channel, so that's what I'm doing for my sat box, but no go on my Xbox or apple tv. On ps3 if you do simultaneous out you can't do uncompressed out on the hdmi.
DRM fing blows.
