my sound bar is a 6 ohms bar, I see some receivers that list 8 and 4 ohm specs, can I use that on a 6 ohm unit? I was looking at some Yamaha's but would love some ideas

You are fine with pretty much any AVR on 6ohm. 4ohm is what you have to watch for.By the way, ignore AVR power ratings. They are meaningless,buy based on the features you need/want/will use

What soundbar do you have? Most soundbars have their own internal amp and are not meant to be used with a receiver.

Again, you are fine with 6ohm, like I alteady said.Plenty of LCR are out there by BIC, Def Tech, Leon...etc.You are fine. Hook it up.
