Just a heads-up to everyone. Universal and DreamWorks are now having the same problem with copies of Taken on DVD. Same interlacing problem. Deluxe did the authoring and is looking into it.
Thank you for contacting Universal Studios. With the advent of cutting-edge technology in the DVD format, a small number of DVD players do not have the technical capability to take full advantage of the "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" disc format. Universal Studios Home Video has become aware of a player specific issue which results in the appearance of jagged video interlacing, on disc 1 only. Disc 2 is NOT affected. Consumers with an incompatible player may mail back Disc 1 to Universal and receive a replacement. To obtain a pre-paid USPS envelope in which to mail back the original Disc 1, please call 1-800-433-4673. Replacement discs are currently scheduled to be available mid-November 2003.
I need to call and get this mailer, My player doesn't have a problem, but if I upgrade down the road....:frowning:
I just called for the BTTF mailer, at first i thought it was a recording, then i realized someone was really speaking to me, and apparently English wasn't a first language.....
On a side note: I just picked up Jurassic Park and discovered that it had the faulty DTS track, did they do a mailer for this as well? and if so what's the number for that?
Oh Universal. When will you stop with your sub par DVD authoring?
Anyhoo, I called the Canadian Universal number today. Left a message, who knows if I'll ever see my mailer. However, they were quite good with the BTTF exchange, so I have high hopes.
