It's all down hill when she cuts her hair.
    I think it's season 2.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that. How could she?? That would be hilarious if it was part of a story line and she actually "had" to do it. [IMG]

I hope that the sales were high enough to warrant future sets. There's only 4, so I figure it's likely, but this is Buena Vista's first attempt, and maybe they aren't happy with the sales, who knows... I think it's doing reasonably well though.

I bought it and only watched most of the first season, and a few episodes here or there. I never really liked it.

Now I'm in love with the show, it really is greatly done, and accurately displayed what I think most of college life will be like (they actually have classes and stuff, unlike Dawson's Creek, where if they do, it's with a hot teacher only)

I am a guy who was never forced to watch this show, and who also thoroughly enjoys it.

Ron, are you stopping with ep #3? That's what the review sounded like, what a shame.

What's great about this show is the characters. So much "Hollywood" and "typical TV" is about events. Characters have stuff forced upon them, and then adapting the characters to the event comes later. For instance soap operas. It seems that the writers think "it would be outrageous if Ken and Linda slept together, wouldn't it" even though in real life it would never happen or make any sense. SO they have a Friday episode where Ken and Linda sleep together. Then they start filling in how these two would have done that, even if it really means changing who Ken is in some way that is really not believable. How many times does a soap opera character become good or evil over, say, five years, just to suit the story?

With this show, though, the characters are there, experiencing the world and interacting with each other. What happens, happens naturally out of their characters. And THAT is good storytelling.

Henry, well put. I enjoy Felicity a whole bunch. Probably one of the best drama/comedies (dramadies?) I have yet experienced. The writers have a knack for giving good lines to the not-so-important people. I especially like the 2 weirdo guys that always bug Noel... [IMG] And Javier was great too...I wish he didn't fall in love and move to Spain. Oh well...Great show!!

    Well-
I was on the fence about buying this show.
But Fry's Electronics had it for cheap the week it
was released $39.99, and I decided to bite the bullet.
Well, my mother came home, saw the set laying on the
floor --Yes, I share a house with my mother because
I am a college student of limited income, and I am
spoiled rotten...anyway.--, she wanted to watch an episode,
and after just one, she was hooked.
She actually kept me up one night until 5:00am with the
    phrase, "Just one more episode."
I, too, had forgotten how much I loved this show, and
now, regardless of price, I want to get the rest of the
seasons, even if they are "uneven" in quality.
I didn't even know that this show had ran for 4 seasons,
which, honestly, is perfect for a show set in college.
(My own work/class/life schedule got too busy and I stopped
    watching "normal" television.)
Now, I'm glad, and hope, that I can buy the other seasons
on DVD, and just as of a few hours ago, my mother finished
the season 1, and is cringing at the thought of having to
wait to hear how things are resolved.
One final note, if you have not seen the entire series,
I was a bit both happy and annoyed that in the final
episode of season one's commentary, the creators of the
show mention how the finale of the series ended, and I
really didn't want to know that
    Noel gets married
    ,
especially since how they phrased it,
I now know what has happend
(at least how they relate to eachother)
to a few other characters as well.
Oh well. It will make this a bit like
    Star Wars: Episode III:
How will we get from the end of EPII to beginning
    of EPIV?
    Minor gripe,
but I wish they'd had stuck to only discussing
    season one events
    Here's hoping seasons 2, 3, & 4 are not far behind.
Finally, and not to threaten anyone's masculinity,
but I am a gay guy who likes...okay, loves...this show,
and just as a "no biggie" side note,
and general FYI to anyone reading this,
I am not sure the use of the word
fairy in this thread thus far is entirely helpful
for this seeming like an inclusive forum.
"Fairy," to most of the gay men I know,
is a bit like the N word for African-Americans.
Just an FYI... and no, I don't expect anyone to bow
to the Political Correctness police, which I hate.
(And I am one of those people that rolls my eyes,
when people talk about "sensativity training.")
Just a little FYI to some of you very nice sounding folks,
who I am sure don't want/mean/intend to offend
reasonable people who hopefully aren't being
overly sensative to a term that is largely
considered negative/offensive by the population it attempts to define. [IMG]

    Brent-
Yep, I thought it was funny, and told my boss that I
had to set a limit with my mom over watching this show,
and my boss paused and said,"You watch Felicity?"
(They think that because I love Citizen Kane
and "classic" films like Stalag 17, that
I wouln't watch something so unrepentantly romantic as
Felicity. That is what I have come away
with: this show is very romantic about life, and like
Felicity herself, finds that actions always 'mean something.')
    Regards,
    Mark

There is news on Felicity: Season 2
According to Wanda from "Watch with Wanda" on E! online the Second Season will come out "next year". But the best is (according to J.J. Abrams, one of the creators) there will be "added features, interviews and behind-the-scenes extras". [IMG]
You can read the chattranscript with the Felicity news here .

Can't wait for season 2, or season 3 when the credits were altered. [IMG] I was worried they'd quit after season 1, but I guess the sales were high enough. [IMG]

I finally bought the set a week ago and am already on the fourth disc, I'm just eating this up watching at least one episode a day. I can't wait for season two to come out!

Also, I love how good the picture looks on these...my god...better than broadcast quality.

My favorite episode is still 'Finally'. Absolutely hysterical.

Nothing like bumping an eleven year old Ron Epstein review! :D

I just got here as I was struck by the fact that Seasons 3 & 4 of Felicity are being re-released this week (5-7-13) and I've never seen an episode. Amazon will have the new releases for $14.99 apiece. All I know about the series is that Keri Russell was the star. I liked her a lot in the film Waitress.

And I wondered if people who know Felicity would have any thoughts as to how it might compare to The Gilmore Girls. No one was more surprised than I as to how much I enjoy that show. My wife and I have watched all seven seasons--twice(!)--and consider it one of the most smartly written shows we have seen on TV.

What I have read in this thread makes me think I might be on the right track.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I cannot believe its been 10 years since this tread was started. Man time flys. I used to be an active member here but my account was dormant so I guess my account be came invalid. I recently started watching Felicity again and I forgot how much I liked it.
