There's something up with your equipment, or your settings. There should be no aspect ratio change when upscaling.

1.66:1 will show columns of black, left and right.
1.85:1 will show slight black, top and bottom (or one or the other).
1.78:1 will fill the 16:9 screen.

For all movies, at 480p or 1080i.

I had my first-ever viewing of this fine film tonight.

Beautifully photographed and acted. A great story well-told. Like Ron said earlier, this film gave me insight into one of the great characters of history of which I know very little.

The restoration seems top-notch...especially if you watch the accompanying documentary about Sir Thomas More's life. They use clips from the film throughout which are all washed out and color imbalanced. To watch the clips from the final courtroom scene on the doc and then call up the scene from the film is like night and day.

I've said it before...one of the great thrills for me of the HT hobby is discovering great films that I have never seen before. This experience certainly falls into that category! :emoji_thumbsup:
