Movie: 2 out of 5

See How They Fall was a tough movie to review, and I ended up having to watch it twice to make some sense out of the plot. A police detective is murdered, and when his business card salesman friend Simon (Jean Yanne) feels the investigation is not progressing, he begins piecing together clues and goes on the trail of the killers, a pair of grifters Jean-Louis Trintignant and Mathieu Kassovitz) who get tangled up with the mob. The story switches back and forth between the investigation, and the events leading up to the murder, which I found, in this instance, to be quite confusing.

Video: 1 out of 5

The non-anamorphic video on this DVD appears as if it was transferred from a VHS master, as evidenced by the occasional dropouts that appear. The entire movie has a blue tint to it, with a dark image that lacks any detail.

Audio: 2 out of 5

The Dolby 2.0 mono soundtrack does its job, although there is some hiss present. Dialogue, music, and sound effects are well mixed, but nothing to get overly excited over.

Special Features: 0 out of 5

Synkronized USA has released See How They Fall with no special features.

Overall: 2 out of 5 (non an average)

A confusing plot, coupled with a poor video transfer, a somewhat acceptable mono soundtrack, and no special features make this a tough sell, let alone a rental.
