Thanks, Rich. I used the lion's roar explosion in this film on many occasions to show off what a great surround sound set-up can produce. I am looking forward to getting this...It's on my Christmas list!!

Well, Rich. This is one of the reasons I like the HTF reviews so much.

This is a film I would never have given a thought to...but based upon your description it sounds like one I might be able to watch with my wife (we often have troubles agreeing on what to watch).

    Thanks!

The violence is PG (no gore), there is a nice scene of Banderas and Zeta-Jones dancing, and there are two scenes of babies in cradles. She'll love it!

Well, in the interest of full disclosure, the movie is rated PG-13, and there is a shot of a deceased man's head and hand in separate pickle jars. I know that my wife at least is sensitive to these things, so I have to remember all the "bad"/disturbing stuff from movies I want to share with her so I can tell her to look away at the right moments. :)

I had forgotten this was coming out this week, thanks for the review!

I love this film, and did not realize that a BD release was coming. Thanks for the review, Richard. I'll be getting this one soon.

Thanks for mentioning it. That particular shot is very brief and looked to me like something you might see in a biology lab, but your point is well-taken. But it also should be noted that the beheading takes place off-screen!

Ah yes, the film that made me fall in love with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

I like this film quite a bit--very nice score (including the closing song), good performances, nice touches of humor, and swashbuckling action. And yes, CZJ is gorgeous in it. I watched a bit of it today, and the BR made it easy to see Anthony Hopkins' stunt double. :)

Thanks, Richard. I've been looking forward to getting this one. As I said in the other thread, this will make a good present under the Christmas tree.

Buying this one for sure, its a great movie but unfortunately does not come out in the UK until 13th Jan. Sony should have released it before xmas as catalog Bluray titles are big business in UK & EU now!!!!

That pre main title sword sound is totally incredible & really catches your attention
