Totally forgettable movie. I actually liked the fact race was never mentioned, but I don't think it plays a role in the story AT ALL. Perhaps that's a naive and unrealistic move on the part of the filmmakers, but I thought it was refreshing. This was a trashy thriller, not a civil rights drama, and it's nice to see a movie that COULD involve racial issues but doesn't.
The only other worthwhile plot element was the fact that Derek married a former secretary. That helped justify some of his behaviors, whereas without that twist, the story would've become even more ridiculous than it is.
And I agree Elba's a good actor. Knowles and Larter? Well, they look good, at least!
