Wow. I'm dumbfounded. I believe you are in the wrong business. You need to get out now while you still have your sanity. What will you do when some one really blasts one of your films?

Being a fan of Raimi's Evil Dead and other work I bought this yesterday and viewed it last night. I loved it, a refreshing change to all the mindless slasher pics that seem to dominate the genre these days. I love Raimi's directing sensibilites, and the tension of not knowing what was going to pop out and startle the crap out of you next! Can't wait to watch this again.

I found the Blu-ray to have nearly reference audio and video, I also think Kevin's scores for both were a bit conservative. I watched on a 51" screen and saw nothing but a clean, solid, and stable image throughout. I would rate the video 4.5 stars at least, if not 5. Audio at 4.5.

After reading various reviews I'm definitely more interested in this movie now. I love a good horror film but was honestly not very impressed with the Evil Dead movies. Perhaps a blind purchase is in order!

I cancelled my blind-buy preorder based on the DVDBeaver screencaps, then found they'd been updated with what seems to be better-captured ones. Now they actually look like a high-def disc... Before, they were truly horrid.

I ordered this from Amazon yesterday afternoon and it should be here tomorrow morning. I can't wait to check it out this weekend.

I watched Drag Me To Hell last night for the second time (first time was during it's theatrical release). Thoroughly enjoyed it again! The Director's Cut was superior to the theatrical IMO. It's a tight, entertaining film that despite its flaws really delivers the goods. Raimi has concocted a real winner here as far as I'm concerned. On my system (PS3, Mitsubishi 57" DLP, Onkyo TX-SR805) it looked solid and detailed, and sounded fantastic. Hopefully the price on this release will come down a few bucks over the coming weeks. $25 is too steep for me to make a purchase.

Watched "Drag Me To Hell" and I have to tell you... this is a great movie. Good scary stuff, with out the gore. A lot of gross stuff, without the "horror porn" we see in today's horror movies. Great story, and a heck of a good time. 4 star movie all the way, and the audio on the Blu-ray will mess with your mind!

saw this in the cinema and adored it

best horror film I have seen for some years - actually frightening - and not sickening like much of the recent "torture porn" (Hostel, Saw, etc.)

Not to single you out (since I see it used all the time) but I hate the term "torture porn" because it's just a quick and easy BS way to dismiss a movie. I have no problem with someone disliking a movie because of explicit violence and gore but to call it "torture porn" is just a way to paint the movies as something terrible and tries to make the movies impossible for anyone to defend. Afterall, what kind of sicko would defend something that's been branded as "torture porn"?

IMO, Its extremely overrated and merely an "average" horror film, but coming from Sam Raimi, I view it as a disappointment.

It did look and sound great tho.

term "torture porn"

It's something I have read many times in reviews of rather gory films like Hostel and the Saw series

I actually really enjoyed Hostel 1 and Hostel 2, and understood the function of the graphic violence in the Hostel films (the scenes in these films were just about on the max. level of what I could stomach) but found the Saw films uncomfortable viewing, especially the later Saw films, to the point of being an unpleasant experience

It took forever for my Blu-ray to arrive, but I personally feel this one is reference quality. I enjoyed the film even more the second time around. I'm glad that Alison Lohman wound up being in this. I'm sure I wouldn't have liked it as much with Ellen Page as the lead.
