There are some nifty tricks with added LFE punch and directional sound effects in the new 5.1 mixes (the mynock (sp?) cave/mouth in Empire comes to mind), but I like the way the score sounds better on the PCM tracks of the non-SEs, and find myself surprised realizing how much of the impact of these films, for me, anyway, relies on the John Williams scores. The dialog track on Ep IV has never sounded that hot on any video release, and the SE is not an exception.
Come to think of it, I have not listened to the PCM tracks on the SEs, and I don't own them myself, so maybe I would like that better, I can't say.
